Gastouder Noena, the location

A healthy environment

Our home is fully equipped for and set to the daycare. There is no smoking, no burning of incense or the use of (scented) candles. There is (multiple) daily ventilation to ensure that there is a healthy living environment. 

In our home we have a dachshund and a sweet cat who are never left alone with the children. Outside we have a large bird cage containing several birds. Animals can help a child to feel safe, which is one of the most important pillars of Gastouder Noena. 

Plenty of room to play

The older children have the ability to play throughout the whole living room. Next to that they can utilize the dining table for drawing or crafts. 

Toys are in bins in an open setup, so that the children have an overview of what’s available and can choose the toys that best fir their needs and wants at that moment. This stimulates their independence. 

Themed play

At Gastouder Noena we regularly work within a certain theme, beloning to a holiday, a season or a profession for example. The toys, the books and the crafts will fit this theme.

Sometimes we watch an educational movie beloning to the theme of that moment. The movies are choices carefully for theme, use of language and a slow tempo, so they contribute to the development of the children as well as possible. This movies will only be watch with guidance and interactively.

Playing outside

We go outside daily. We play in the garden where we have lots of different materials, like climbing materials, walking planks, cars and bikes. We also go on regular walks in the neighborhood. The children who can walk on their own are allowed to do so, while the children who are not yet able to walk sit in the stroller. This allows the children of all ages the opportunity to explore the world on their own and with others, as well as exploring and developing their own talents.
